FUTUREMUSIC WORDPRESS HEADERb

Future Music ZA has been established by Live Magazine SA to feature emerging South African artists who were nominated for the #FutureMusic Rising event series in 2013. #FutureMusic series is a collaboration between British Council Connect ZA and Live Magazine SA. In 2013 both Johannesburg and Cape Town have played host to unique monthly mini-tours where UK acts share the line-up with local underground bands, DJs and performers.

Artists who have performed in 2013 were Actress (UK), The 2 Bears (UK), Auntie Flo and Esa (UK/ZA), The BLK JKS (ZA), DJ Fonque (ZA), Senyaka (ZA), DJ Mma Tseleng (ZA), DJ Tommy Gun (ZA), DJ Fosta (ZA), Miss CJ (ZA) and VJ Ego (AUS), OKZHARP (UK/ZA), Zaki Ibrahim (ZA/Canada), Okmalumkoolkat (ZA), Dirty Paraffin (ZA), Christian Tiger School (ZA), Jakobsnake (ZA), Funafuji (ZA), Jumping Back Slash (ZA), , DJ Danger Ingozi (ZA), Ivan Turanjanin (ZA), Terrence Pearce (ZA), Plaigarhythm (ZA), Sir Vincent (ZA), Plastician (UK), Skelemton (ZA), Blotchy (ZA), The Watermark High (ZA), Reason (ZA), The Brother Moves On (ZA), Bateleur (ZA), Wildebeats (ZA) and Andy Mkosi (ZA).

For the final of the #FutureMusic shows of 2013, British Council Connect ZA and Live Magazine SA have teamed up with the Roundhouse (UK) for #FutureMusic Rising! The winning artists were Wildebeats and The Brother Moves On.
